What I Did For Love

Funny, but this is so true on so many levels.I love it

Literally Patti Murin

1374291_724263284266109_1603825607_nSo I openly and loudly consider myself one of the luckiest women alive, because somehow I managed to find one of those incredibly rare and unique men who is kind, loving, loyal, intelligent, funny, laid back, and who puts up with me willingly and happily. Oh, and he’s hot. Like REAL hot. Good work, Murin.

Fear not, this whole blog is not going to be a sickeningly delirious post about how much I love my fiancee and how lucky I am to have found him and blah blah blah chick lit novel I can’t believe he’s mine what did I do to deserve this. No, I deserve him. Oh, I freaking deserve him. Because when I look back on everything I went through to get him? I can’t believe I lasted this long without becoming a nun or a cat lady, or worst of all, a contestant on The Bachelor.

Colour and design assignment #5 the wedding(Jacob Lawrence).

He shows the relationship between complentary colours. He uses tinys, tones and shades in alot of his painting. He rearly uses bright hues in his painting,he does not use only monochromatic colours,in his artwork, but also move more towards the anagolous colours.lots of his artworks are in muted colour.
Again more of his painting tells a story. His artwork is not always of a perfect picture, but his use of monochromatic colours brings out whatever,he wants to say with his artwork come across.

At Home Between the Pages by Dan Gemeinhart

You can never go wrong with books.

Nerdy Book Club

When I think of my childhood, two themes immediately rise to the top: movement and books.

We moved a lot when I was growing up. In the beginning it was because my dad was in the military; later, just because we were following (or looking for) jobs. From when I was born in a military hospital in Germany until I entered middle school, we moved nearly every year. I was used to putting all my stuff into boxes, then taking it all out of boxes again in a new house, in a new town, with a new school. Each move brought a different bedroom, a different neighborhood, a different teacher, different friends. My family was strong and constant, but the rest of the world swirled and shifted around us.

I was a quiet kid, shy and introverted. It’s not easy always being the new kid. Walking into a classroom full…

WHAT IS FASHION??. (what I use to think about fashion).

I often ask myself, what fashion is all about.I know people have this same question, and I know some thought fashion is all about the lights, camera, the glits and the glamour, with all the fame and money that comes with it right??.hahahahaha u got me there.i thought so to.i thought fashion designing was all about making dresses, the fitting, the dresses on the runwayand the lights and all that, that comes with making dresses, but noooooooooooooooo, n let me stress on the noooooooooo.laugh out loud.fashion entails a whole lot.Fashion is an art, it’s a science, it’s a passion, it’s a dream, it’s an attitude, it’s a lifestyle.hahhahahahahaha I can go on and on about what fashion is, cause it is a broad subject and leaves more room for ones imagination.

I was fortunate to learn about all this, when I entered a fashion school, Joyce Ababioo college of creative design(JACCD).I went into the school more prepared and ever ready to learn how to sew, to learn sewing and enjoy all the riches and the fame that comes with it.(yes i do think about money alot)but in the school, I was thought to open my mind to think outside the box, hence the schools motto:STEP INSIDE THINK OUTSIDE.we  made to think outside our comfort zone, see the fashion world not just in the palm of our hands, but see it as a world of opportunities, of realities, and we are at the centre of it all.Fashion desgning has lots of branches, from drapers, to marketers, to illustrators, to fashion editors, fashion bloggers(like myself).the designing and a whole lot about this business industry that crown it all giving it the name fashion designing. I knew about colours and it’s combination but not to this skill.how u can incorporate art, and even music into designing, how one has to see what is there, n what isnt.that is negative and positive spaces  to bring out a unique piece.i saw designers as people who just made the dresses and just put them on the runway, and i wanted to be a part of that world, never thought of the process, the hardwork and the sleepless nights and what goes into making a dress on a ticking clock.

Fashion in short is hardwork, it’ not easy, it’s never gets easy, and it will never be easy.but ones an individual decides to go into fashion, it changes their mindset.it is assumed that designers dont think, they just come out with nice collection and all that, but I stand firm in my saying that this notion is wrong, fashion designers I will say are the best people who use their brains everyday.no one said it will be easy, I would encourage anyone and everyone who say I want to pursue fashion designing to go for it and never be deceived, cause apart from all the stress and the hula balloon.Fashion designing is something one must go for, if you have the passion for it.i know I did, and I haven’t regetted it, it’s gets better with time.Rome wasn’t built in a day.so yeah go for it.all the best.*wink**wink*

Life drawing assignment #2 “victory boogie-woogie by Piet Mondrian.

“I construct lines and colour combination on a flat surface,in order to express general beauty with the utmost awareness.Nature(or that which I see)inspires me, puts me as with any painter,in an  emotional state so that an urge comes about to make something, but I want to come as close as possible to the truth and abstract everything from that untill inreach the foundation(still just an external foundation)of things.I believe if is possible that, through horizontal and vertical lines constructed with awareness, but not with calculation, led by high intuition and brought to harmony and rythem, these basic forms of beauty supplemented if necessary by other direct lines or curves, can become a work of art, as strong as it is true”Piet Mondrian.
The piece is made up of a number of shimmering squares of bright colour that leap from the convas, then appear to shimmer.drawing the viewer into those neon lights. He replaced former solid lines with line created from small adjoining retangles of colours punctuate the design.some with small pieces of paper tape in various colours.larger unbounded concentric retangles inside them. They are bright, lively paintings reflecting the upbeat music that inspired them and the city which they were made.Again, it shows how only coulour is used as a means of expression and that, not only objects can be termed as art.It all deals with how one looks at an art work, that through horizontal and vertical lines constructio, one can make an art.
